01 / WHAT WE HAUL

Freight that loads from the side or from above

Flatbed trucking moves freight on an open deck, loaded by forklift or crane. It suits pieces that are too tall, too wide or too heavy for a dry van, and job sites with no dock.

02 / WAYS TO BOOK

Flatbed, step deck or oversize

Send the length, width, height and weight. Dispatch picks the deck and the driver.

03 / WHAT'S INCLUDED

Secured right, delivered flat

Open deck freight needs more than a truck. Here is what comes with every load.

04 / EQUIPMENT

Tell us the load. We'll match the deck.

Not sure which deck fits? Send the dimensions and weight and dispatch will match it.

05 / WHEN A FLATBED FITS

Flatbed or dry van

A dry van is cheaper when the freight fits inside it. An open deck wins in these four cases.

  1. 01

Loaded by crane or from the side

Freight that cannot go through a dock door on a forklift.

  2. 02

Taller or wider than a van

Pieces that do not fit inside a 53' box.

  3. 03

    A site with no dock

The deck is unloaded where it stands.

  4. 04

    Long or awkward pieces

Pipe, beams and lumber that need straps and chains, not a box.

What is flatbed trucking?

Flatbed trucking moves freight on an open deck that loads from the side or from above, by forklift or crane. It is used for steel, lumber, machinery and building materials. Step decks and RGNs are lower decks for taller loads.

What do you need for a flatbed quote?

Pickup and delivery addresses, the date, and the length, width, height and weight of the pieces. Photos help if the freight is unusual.

Does the driver tarp the load?

Yes, when you ask for it. Tell us when you book so we send a driver with the right tarps.

Can you deliver to a job site without a dock?

Yes. We confirm who unloads and with what, and send a step deck or a truck with the right access if needed.

When does a load need an oversize permit?

Usually past 8.5 feet wide, about 13.5 feet tall on the trailer, or over legal weight. We check the dimensions and pull permits when needed.

Can you move several trucks for one project?

Yes. We book the fleet together and sequence arrivals to your crew.
