- 01
Produce season
California produce pulls reefers out of the market every year.
- 02
Holiday peak
Holiday protein and food runs tighten capacity late in the year.
- 03
Book the lane early
If you know your peak weeks, bring us the lane before the market prices it.
- 04
Multi-temp instead of two trucks
A mixed frozen and chilled order can ship on one trailer.

A frozen continuous load costs more to run than a protect-from-freeze load.
Miles and lane
Reefer capacity prices by region, so the same miles can cost differently.
Season
Produce season and the holiday peak move the whole market.
Appointments
Delivery windows, and whether the receiver unloads on time or the driver waits.

10 / REEFER QUESTIONS
Straight answers
Don’t see yours? Add it to your quote request and a dispatcher will reply.
What do you need for a reefer quote?
Pickup and delivery ZIP codes, the pickup date, pallet count and weight, the set point, and whether the unit runs continuous or cycle.
What is reefer trucking?
Reefer trucking is freight moved in a refrigerated trailer held at a set temperature, frozen, chilled or controlled ambient, from pickup to delivery. It is used for produce, meat, dairy, flowers and pharmaceuticals.
What temperatures can you run?
From −20°F frozen to 70°F controlled ambient. Give us the set point and whether the unit runs continuous or cycle.
Can I get the temperature log?
Yes. Ask when you book and the log comes with the POD.
Do you haul produce straight from the field?
Yes, from Central Valley and Salinas sheds. The driver checks pulp temperature at pickup and notes it on the BOL.
What happens if a load is rejected at the receiver?
Dispatch calls you from the dock, and we work out a recovery plan with you before the truck leaves.
Can you run multi-stop reefer loads?
Yes, with the stops and appointments listed in the quote.
